Write For Kids
Primary education is a fundamental right of every children. The information technology age provides easy access to quality learning content for children all over the world through the internet.
PSchool is a technology company and we don't claim ownership for the text content we have. We wanted to keep all our content as free resource in PDF format and github repo. We build most of the content by keeping the internet and text books as references. We don't try to create original or unique content. Instead we wanted to create generic content so that the students, teachers and parents can connect with the regular school learning.
We believe there should be lot of free, opensource and good reading materials for the kids. Most of the kids don't read anything outside the textbooks. We should encourage students to read different types of reading materials like stories, short novels, news items, non-fiction etc. Kids have to read not only English but also their mother-tongue.
We are a small team, and we don't have expertise in various Indian languages. We do rely on volunteers to get considerable amount of content and testing done.
The society needs a lot of copyright free quality reading content in each language, so that the kids can get benefit from them.
To encourage our users to contribute for this cause, we are coming up with 'Write For Kids' Competition and Movement. This is open for parents and teachers who can write in any of the following languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali and English. The writing can be in short story format (both own and traditional stories), event based short fictional writeup, non-fictional writeup on opinion, science, social, history, places and events, geography etc. The writing should fall on any one of the four categories.
- Kindergarten to 2nd standard
- 3rd to 5th standard
- 6th to 8th standard
- Above 8th standard
This competition is across all languages. Selected and shortlisted writeups will be available as Free resource in our web apps and printables. Please submit your writeups before Nov 30, 2023 to writeforkids@pschool.in
